Admitted Students – Next Steps

Congratulations on your admission to NUNM! Just a few steps remain – please review this entire page carefully. The below Enrollment Items are due by December 15, 2023 for Winter 2024 and July 31, 2024 for Fall 2024 unless otherwise noted.

Intent to Enroll (all students)

To secure admittance, all students must complete the following within 14 business days of the date listed on your admission letter:
 

  1. Complete your Statement of Intent.
    • Login to the Self-Service Center; click your admission letter, and hit “Respond,” located in the top right corner.
       
  2. Pay your tuition deposit online or by check made payable to NUNM.
    • BSIHS, BScN – $200 (non-refundable)
    • Accelerated BScN-MScN – $300 (non-refundable)
    • MScN, MScGH, MSIMR – $300 (non-refundable)
    • ND, DAcCHM, MAcCHM, MAc – $500 (non-refundable)

Immunizations (all students by July 31, 2024)

NUNM operates a clinic that is recognized by the Oregon Health Authority as a Patient-Centered Primary Care Home. In order to comply with Oregon law, all NUNM students, online and in-person, are required to complete the following:
 

  1. Provide proof of immunization records (by July 31, 2024)
  2. TB Screening Test (by July 31, 2024) (TB Screening FAQs)
    • Online students must complete a TB test performed by a reputable vendor and submit the results to Admissions (by July 31, 2024).
      • Tuberculosis screening using T-spot or QuantiFERON Gold testing is required. Mantoux tuberculin, AKA “skin test” will not be accepted.
    • In-person students complete a TB test at the NUNM clinic as part of the on-campus New Student Orientation session, and will receive further instruction at that time.

Clinical Students (ND, DAc+, MAc+, MAc, MScN*)

*Note: Only MScN students wishing to pursue clinical study are required to produce this documentation.
 

  1. Complete the Release of Information form (by July 31, 2024).
  2. Complete a background check (by July 31, 2024)
  3. Complete a drug test (between August 10 and September 9, 2024)
    •  Online students enrolling in a clinical program should complete a 10-panel drug test performed by a reputable vendor (read the FAQ for more information). The 10-panel urinary drug screen must include:
        • Amphetamines including methamphetamines
        • Barbituates
        • Benzodiazepines
        • Cocaine
        • Marijuana
        • Methadone
        • Opiates
        • Phencyclidine
    • In-person students enrolling in a clinical program will receive further instructions and test site locations prior to the start of the 30-day window of opportunity.

Conditionally Admitted Students

Please carefully review the terms of your offer of admission. This could be completion of prerequisite courses or the need of a final, official transcript. If you are continuing to work on prerequisites, closely work with your admissions counselor to ensure you are taking the correct courses. You must meet all requirements outlined in order to begin classes. Submission of these items are due by August 26, 2024.

All Students

Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible if you intend to apply for financial aid. NUNM’s FAFSA code = B07624.

It is very important that you update your contact information and physical address any time it changes. Over the course of the next several months, you will be mailed various informational packets from multiple departments. You can update your mailing address at any time by emailing the Office of Admissions.

If you’re new to Portland, we suggest that you arrive 2 to 3 weeks prior to orientation. Portland is a popular city, therefore the housing and rental market can be tight. Start your search early! Here are some resources to help you transition into Portland life.
